Egypt says it’s training hundreds of Palestinians for Gaza security
2025-07-31
[IsraelTimes] Plan has been in works for months and is meant to be implemented after the war ends, Foreign Minister Abdelatty says, noting Cairo still working for ceasefire

Egypt is training hundreds of Paleostinians to take on security roles in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...

war ends, the country’s foreign minister told a Saudi news channel on Wednesday.

In a clip of the interview with the Al Arabiya channel, which has yet to be aired, Badr Abdelatty said Egypt has a clear plan for security and governance arrangements in Gaza after the war ends
…oh? Tell us, do, about this mysterious plan, so we can compare it to Israel’s and see which one is better…
and it is training Paleostinian operatives who will be deployed in the Gaza Strip and assume security roles.
Assuming Israel agrees to the plan, of course, since without their agreement the war will continue…
Egypt first unveiled its proposal for Gaza’s security and future in March, and Abdelatty has mentioned operationalizing it since then. His statement on Wednesday indicated that the country has continued to put the plan into action, despite the war still raging and enduring disputes over who will govern Gaza once it ends.

"Egypt is training hundreds of Paleostinians to take on security responsibilities in Gaza," he said in the interview.

In April, Abdelatty told the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, a conference in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
, that Egypt had begun recruiting Paleostinian security operatives who would be trained to oversee security in Gaza.
How many of those operatives are on the Hamas payroll, or have been? Because Israel has demanded that all Hamas operatives stack arms and leave the Gaza Strip as a condition to end the war…
"We are empowering the Paleostinian coppers, providing training and recruiting new members in order to be deployed in Gaza to take care of the law, order and security in Gaza," he said at the time.
Whose laws? Not Hamas’s, right?
"And, of course, we are standing ready for deployment of an international force — protection, peacekeeping, whatever we call it — to be there in order to provide security and protection for the Paleostinians."
And whose troops, pray tell, are to make up this international force? Has this gotten Israeli agreement?
The Egyptian training program is a piece of a $53 billion plan
…an awful lot of money. Where on earth did Egypt get such a sum to play with?
Cairo proposed in March for Gaza’s reconstruction that was adopted by the Arab League
...an organization of Arabic-speaking states with 22 member countries and four observers. The League tries to achieve Arab consensus on issues, which usually leaves them doing nothing but a bit of grimacing and mustache cursing...
and the 57-member Organization of Islamic Cooperation. That plan was meant as a counter to US President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
’s announcement the previous month that the US would "take over" Gaza and relocate its Paleostinian residents.

Trump’s plan drew broad backlash from the international community, Arab countries and members of both major US parties, and he has not focused on it in recent months. But leaders of the Israeli far right have embraced it as a blueprint for Israeli resettlement of Gaza. Right-wing politicians held a conference last week, headlined by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, on Israel annexing the Strip and making a "Gaza Riviera" a reality.

On Monday, Israel’s cabinet held a meeting in which ministers reportedly discussed Israel occupying Gaza and formally annexing parts of it, after talks broke down in Qatar

last week over a possible ceasefire in Gaza and the release of some of the 50 hostages held there by Hamas.
I suppose Egypt’s little gendarmerie can manage whatever of the Strip left over.
That Israeli vision runs counter to the one advanced by Egypt and the vaporous Arab League, which envisions the West Bank-based Paleostinian Authority governing a postwar Gaza as a steppingstone to Paleostinian statehood.
Utterly idiotic. The PA couldn’t keep Gaza in the teeth of Hamas objection back in 2006, when the PA was much stronger. Why on earth does anyone think they would be able to do so now?
The Arab League again endorsed that idea in a declaration on Tuesday at a United Nations conference on a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians.

Israel has rejected Palestinian statehood as a reward to Hamas for the October 7 attack, and says recognition of such a state pushes peace between the sides further away.

Abdelatty said in the clip of the Saudi interview that Egypt is still committed to reaching a ceasefire and holds daily talks with Qatar and the United States amid efforts to do so. He accused Israel of using food as a weapon, saying the hunger in Gaza is “beyond imagination.”
It isn’t, actually, demonstrably because so much of the population is noticeably fat, except for those out of favour with the ruling Hamas, and a number of genetics cases resulting from close-cousin marriage. But Hamas and the UN are hoarding humanitarian supplies so that Hamas can earn billions from reselling to a desperate, captive population — held there because Hamas has blocked the exits since 2007 — at wartime prices.
