Mexican president rejects US forces crossing border into Mexico to fight cartels

"Us Messicans demand youse don't mess with our cartels!"

#6  John Pershing to the courtesy phone.

The Cartels are terrorist organizations. The Hague Convention of 1907 is in play. "A neutral country has the obligation not to allow its territory to be used by a belligerent. If the neutral country is unwilling or unable to prevent this, the other belligerent has the right to take appropriate counteraction."

#4  Dear Cartel leaders in Mexico, I strongly urge you to have a big meeting at a lovely hilltop hacienda in some remote location. What could go wrong? Extra points if you bring a big fancy monster truck!

#3  Understandable. Actual military forces operating in your country makes your country not fully sovereign.

However, there is a huge DHS that has supplanted the DEA as the DEA has stepped in doo doo too many times working in Mexico and got several of their agents killed.

I would say keep using the DHS and the Mexican marines to keep the twist on the cartels, but offer an open checkbook to those that play along.

"You Yankees can take a vacation
En Mejico, great sovereign nation,
But send men in trucks
Or repatriate bucks
And you face dire revenge! No invasion!"

Or, From the Mess Halls of Montezuma?
