Somalia Executes Three More al-Shabaab Members After Conviction for Deadly Attacks |

The three were identified as Abdi Hassan Roble, a grenade thrower and assassin; Ibrahim Omar Haji Sham’un, a surveillance agent and assassin, and Qudama Hamze Yusuf, a member of al-Shabaab’s Ightiyalat in the Banadir region. Qudama was convicted by the military tribunals in January 2023, while the other two were convicted in 2022. The government is fighting al-Shabaab using the military, internal mechanisms such as controlling financial flow and also through the robust military courts. |
