| #3 ...In the early 90s, just after the Soviet collapse, the Russians sent 3 MiG-29s and an IL-76 on an airshow tour of the states. They got to Elmendorf and ran out of money to refuel and eat. The folks there opened up the chow hall for them - on the house - and then literally passed the hat to help pay for things. Mike |
