[Regnum] During 2025, it is planned to deliver 15 thousand robots to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) so that fewer soldiers can be sent to the battlefield. This was announced on August 18 by the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Oleksandr Syrsky.
“This year, we have planned to deliver 15,000 ground robotic platforms for various purposes to the troops,” he told the publication RBC-Ukraine.
At the same time, Syrsky called the situation difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the front, noting that the Russian army continues to advance. In such conditions, it is difficult to introduce any innovations, he added.
In early February, the former head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense and now Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov announced the appearance of robotic brigades in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian military will use unmanned ground systems both in the offensive and defensive, as well as in logistics, evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield, mining and demining.
