[Korrespondent] The largest number of battles are recorded in the Pokrovsky direction.
There, the Russian army is trying to advance in the areas of about 15 settlements.
Since the beginning of the current day, 99 battles between Ukrainian troops and Russian occupiers have taken place on the front. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an operational report on Monday, August 18.
Thus, in the Severnoslobozhansky and Kursk directions today there were five enemy attacks, two armed clashes are still ongoing.
In the Yuzhnoslobozhansky direction, the enemy attacked six times in the areas of the settlements of Vovchansk, Kamenka, Ambarnoye. Three combat clashes continue.
In the Kupyansk direction, two attacks by Russian occupiers continue. In total, the enemy carried out six assaults in the areas of Golubovka, Kupyansk, Petrovpavlovka and Zagrizovoye.
In the Liman direction, the invading army carried out 10 attacks near the settlements of Ridkodub, Karpovka, Mirnoye and towards the settlements of Drobyshevo, Yampol. Six battles are currently ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Serebryanka, Grigorovka and Vyemka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, units stopped one enemy attack in the area of Chasovy Yar.
In the Toretsk direction, our defenders successfully repelled two enemy attempts to penetrate the defense in the areas of Poltavka and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian occupiers carried out 39 assaults, trying to displace our soldiers from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Dorozhnoe, Fedorovka, Nikanorovka, Mayak, Rodinskoye, Novoekonomicheskoye, Krasny Liman, Promen, Pokrovsk, Zvirovoye, Kotlin, Udachnoye, Molodetskoye, Novoukrainka and in the direction of the settlement of Balagan. The defense forces have already repelled 34 attacks.
Eight assaults have been repelled in the Novopavlovskoye direction, and three more clashes are ongoing. The enemy attempted to advance in the areas of the settlements of Novopavlovka, Grushevskoye, Filiya, Zvezda, Volnoye Pole, Maliyevka and towards Komyshuvakha.
In the Orekhov direction, two enemy attacks were stopped near Kamenskoye and Novoandreyevka.
Five battles took place in the Dnieper direction. The enemy tried to advance in the direction of the Antonovsky Bridge, the settlement of Dneprovskoye and in the area of Belogrudy Island.
Let us recall that on August 17, 180 armed clashes took place on the front in 24 hours. The Russian army lost almost 1,000 servicemen killed and wounded.
