[Korrespondent] Almost half of the Russian attacks are in the Pokrovsk direction. There, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are fighting in the areas of 14 populated areas.
Since the beginning of the current day, 78 combat clashes have occurred on the front. Most of them were recorded in three directions, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in an operational report on Tuesday, August 19.
Thus, two enemy attacks were recorded in the Severo-Slobodskoy and Kursk directions .
In the Yuzhno-Slobodskoy direction, the battle continues near Vovchansk.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy attacked three times in the areas of Sinkovka and Stepnaya Novoselovka. Two attacks have already been repelled, another battle is ongoing.
In the Liman direction today the invading army carried out 15 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of the settlements of Zelenaya Dolina, Kolodyagi, Mirnoye, Torskoye, Yampol and in the direction of Yampol and Grigorovka. Currently, four combat clashes are ongoing.
In the Seversky direction, the enemy attacked twice near Pereyezdnoye and in the direction of Fyodorovka.
In the Toretsk direction, our defenders repelled six assaults in the areas of Toretsk, Shcherbinovka, Yablunovka and Poltavka. Another battle continues.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian occupiers carried out 32 attacks near the settlements of Vladimirivka, Mayak, Nikanorovka, Novoekonomicheskoe, Krasny Liman, Rodynskoe, Promen, Grodovka, Lisovka, Zvirovoe, Udachnoe, Novomikolaevka, Gorikhovoe and Novoukrainka. The defense forces have already repelled 31 attacks.
In the Novopavlovsk direction, eight assaults were repelled in the areas of the settlements of Grushevka, Zeleny Gai, Temirovka, Voskresenka, Zelenoe Pole and in the direction of Komyshuvakha. Another four clashes are ongoing.
In the Dnieper direction, the enemy made four unsuccessful attempts to approach the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
No fighting has been recorded in the Kramatorsk, Gulyai-Polye and Orekhov directions yet.
Let us recall that in the course of 24 hours on August 18, Russia lost almost 900 soldiers killed and wounded at the front. The total number of Russian losses is approaching 1.1 million people
