#2 It doesn’t matter whether secular or religious, totalitarian governments are always sliding down the slope to failed state.

Professor Nasr is so obviously wrong about Iran having evolved to secularity and normalcy that one has to wonder at his motivation at putting his reputation on the line in staking out this position.

#3 After reading the whole thing: One thing that sadly is not at all surprising is that this stinking pile of wrongness was published by Princeton University Press. Only Columbia or Harvard publishing it would have been less surprising.
