In a public statement, Zink said she is not only ending her work with the international news organization but also destroying her press credentials in protest.
New title to be Hamas Propagandist to the English-Speaking World, which at least is honest.. "I can’t in good conscience continue to work for Rooters given their betrayal of journalists in Gaza and culpability in the liquidation of our colleagues," she said.
Zink specifically referenced the killing of 245 journalists in Gaza since the start of the conflict, accusing Rooters of justifying and enabling the violence through its editorial choices and lack of accountability.
Her resignation adds to growing criticism from within the media industry over the treatment of journalists in conflict zones and the responsibilities of major news organizations in upholding press freedom and safety.
Rooters has not publicly responded to Zink’s statement.
