AI drone swarm ‘is used in combat for the first time as Israel deploy them to attack Hamas militants'

Israeli Defence Force (IDF) said the swarm was used to identify Hamas targets for guided mortar weapons

The swarm requires only a single human pilot to guide them to their target

The drones fly as one integrated network guided by artificial intelligence

Comes just weeks after Israel announced a laser defence system that can shoot down enemy drones and missiles

The IDF commander told local news outlets that the swarm unit has already carried out more than 30 successful operations and that the IDF are planning to make more drone swarms available to support forces.

#5 I seem to remember reports hinting at swarming drones during the Azerbaijan/Armenia dustup.

Guess it all depends on what you are expecting from the term AI.
