FBI Raids Homes of Democrat Lawmakers Over Corruption Probe

Detroit Democrats? Corruption is in the basic job description.

[ConservativeBrief] The Democrat political machine in Detroit has taken a blow following an FBI raid on the city hall and the homes of city council members.

On Wednesday, FBI agents reportedly raided the homes of two Detroit City Council members as part of a federal corruption investigation, Fox News reported.

The FBI executed search warrants on the homes of Detroit City Council members Janeé Ayers and Scott Benson, and the offices of the city’s Coleman A. Young Municipal Center.

Detroit News reports that no criminal charges were filed against the individuals and the search warrants remain sealed in court for now.

The raids follow charges against councilman André Spivey some three weeks ago he was charged on a single count of conspiracy to commit bribery for allegedly accepting over $35,000 to be “influenced and rewarded” for votes.

#8 Sometimes the best protection for a politician is an "ongoing investigation" that can take years before the statues of limitations runs out. See the Durham investigation or the Ilhan Omar immigration fraud now being too old to pursue due to statute of limitations...A new Michigan Governor would be helpless to interfere with an ongoing federal investigation.
