#1 "Hunting" a cow?
I don't get it.
Sometimes you get the cow, and sometimes the cow gets you.

#2 No mention of the Coenraad and Vermaak's PH (Professional Hunter) back-up shooter. Perhaps Watkins decided to go it alone.

#3 I believe he's the one who attacked the buffalo.

#5 Didn't Ruark consider the Cape Buffalo the most dangerous big game hunt?

Travel in herds, wildly unpredictable, hang out in vision limiting vegetation, and very difficult to take down cleanly.

#8 I just woke up. I figured this would be about the city in New York.

Africa: a continent with lions, leopards, hyenas, cobras, and crocodiles. But statistically, the hippopotamus kills more people than all of those, right?

#9 The buffalo was not wounded, the safari said.

Don't mess with Texas Limpopo.

#10 In Death In The Long Grass, Capstick said that he thought the Cape Buffalo was the most dangerous animal in Africa. It's blood is naturally hyper oxygenated; you can shoot it through the heart, and it can still run thirty yards to administer the 'ol "stick and stir."

Sometimes you eat the steak. Sometimes the steak eats you.

#14 In my limited experience (2 big game hunts - SA and Namibia), the PH guides all said the Cape Buffalo was the most dangerous of the Big 5. Those animals are massive and will actually stalk humans by backtracking or setting an L-shaped ambush. Takes 5 shots on average to bring 1 down.
