#2 The Fed was created to address the numerous 'crashes' of the 19th Century even though we were gold/silver based economy. Based upon the metrics of the first Depression, we've had two under the Fed and numerous recessions. They're fueled a number of those by their own actions. It doesn't work as sold. Given that it can 'create' money literally by the pressing of a button in the digital age, this is a power that can destroy.

#6 The Treasuries (especially the 10 year T bond) came down to 4.2% yield a few days ago.

If it hits 4.0% the US borrower will be energized a bit even if the Fed rate doesn't change. But at this point the betting is for a 25 basis point drop in Sept.
