From a Legal prospective.

A person hit by a car in a Gay Pride painted Crosswalk may not have the full legal (lawsuit) protections that a properly marked/striped Crosswalk offers pedestrians.

When both drivers & pedestrians need to be focused on each other.
The Rainbow crosswalk, is to say the least, a major attention distraction.

Also, it does open the door for Lawyers seeking more $$$$$$ for their injured clients. Thus also suing the City/County for causing/creating / allowing such hazard & distraction.
