While I am sure many of us agree, Criminal / Gang ILLEGALS need to be quickly arrested, jailed, deported and then banned for life from return.

But! In all honesty, it does open the question of how will the various US Markets (construction, food and etc) that need cheap manual labor, be addressed?

Because this Smartphone Generation, we have mindlessly walking around doing Social Media, is far from able or nor wishes to address those type of labor needs.

Should some type of 90 day sign-up period be held, for 1 year VISA's be undertaken? With historical & follow up constant Police - National Crime Information Center monitoring for anything more than a parking ticket, thus requiring immediate deportation and Ban for life on conviction.

#2 Industrial innovation is the key to the reduction of "cheap labor." BTW, why is "labor" the only thing that must remain cheap ?

There're millions of college graduates.

#5 New housing was going up at the local Air Force base. The contract had to comply with existing federal law. That means the contractor had to use the law to base labor costs. During the building ICE came to the site and gathered a number of illegals. They certainly weren't being paid the prevailing union wages. The contractor blamed subcontractors for the hires. However, someone was pocking the difference. Don't get me started how those illegals got to work on the base to begin with.

#6 "Cheap labor" was a contributing factor to our civil war. Nothing good comes from cheap labor that I can see.

#7 P2k, the Feds require a LOT of paperwork for their projects. As you suspected, there was an inordinate amount of subterfuge going on as each of those 'subcontractors' have to provide weekly or monthly certified payroll records that are then signed off at each layer as they go up the chain to the main general contractor (and they also sign off on each record's validity) for them to submit to the Feds.

Records falsification is a huge no-no and carries
some serious consequences.

In a word, NO.

In several words: It's only cheap for the employer. The illegals get social security, welfare, medicare, medicade, food stamps, childcare, section 8, and more I haven't thought of.

#9 Those college grads will use AI or a YT video and build your house for you…I mean, it can’t be that hard if they can get the uneducated folks to build them. Too many folks got educated beyond their intelligence level…

OK! I stepped in it somewhat.

As the USA became computerized / I.T. focused, it all but stopped turning out hands on Technical Trade grads. To the point we are faced with a shortage of Hands-On-Worker bees'.

We recently read we have 50+ Million foreign nationals working here in the USA. Clearly, they are doing a lot of the work the new generation (whatever) won't.

eg. While I was attending college in Fresno, the San Joaquin Valley in the early 70's, cheap farm labor was seasonal. A majority headed back to Mexico after harvest.

SO.
Yes! We need strict immigration control.

Yes! We need to kick out the NON-US Citizen Welfare leeches, the drug gangs and all the sexual deviants/perverts.

But we also need law-abiding SEASONAL, less expensive Farm Labor.
Because, imagine price results of paying US Citizens farm hands $25+ per/hr to operation heavy machinery in the sun, and shovel $hit for 12hrs a day for 9 months a year

#11 I thought seasonal workers were still legal, following the appropriate law.

#13 No US industry relies on illegal aliens for a majority of its workforce.

Quit repeating Democrat lies. Americans will take any job if it pays enough.
